Im finding that when simulring is NOT setup -- then every call reaches my home phone everytime.
But when it IS setup -- calls usually hit my simulring number but not my home phone
------------------------
Name of ISP
charter
Make and model of router
motorola
Make and model of your telephone
panasonic multitalk 8
Brief description of your home network (computers, routers, hubs, switches, firewall software)
none, between motorola VOIP device and internet, nor connected during testing
Detailed description of the issue you are having and when the problem started
Simulring doesn’t seem to function correctly for my line. When activated, most calls ring only secondary number. First ring on caller's phone, lights up "in use" light on home phone -- indicating that the call is initially coming through on the line. However, line closes, and phone usually doesn't ring.
When simulring is not enabled -- calls come through to home phone everytime w/o issue
Interestingly enough -- also when it does work -- on the caller's phone, there's 1 ring on the phone (then a click -- perhaps from the telco switching) -- then both primary and simulring numbers ring w/o issue
When it does not work -- the telco switching click occurs BEFORE the first ring on the callers phone -- and then only the simulring number ring
Test Results -- 10 calls each
No Simulring -- 100% completion to home phone
W/Simulring -- 60% completion to home phone, secondary phone rang everytime

First email to vonage support said that they changed something on there end -- and to try it again. . . but still having the problem
Second email indicated to reboot the IPmodem and disable/renable simulring -- still having problem
Third email has not yet been answered
Any advice would be appreciated |
