I received my first call on my Vonage phone using my old number that is in process of being ported. My son called, he's also a Vonage customer in LA and he used my old number and it rang on my Vonage phone. I have not gotten any notification that the transfer has been done as of yet. I then called my old number from my cell and the call came through on my POTS line. Is it because of the Vonage to Vonage call....or a fluke? Any help would be appreciated! |

Vonage #'s see the port immediately, as it stays within their network. Out-of-network calls rely upon your old phone co to turn the number over to Vonage. |

Yes, and another thing that happens is that your Vonage line starts displaying the ported number on outbound caller ID immediately, even before the port has happened. So you can start using the line for your outbound calls without having to explain the temporary number to anyone. |
