right after my last post it occurred to me that if my friends computer could access it from here then maybe it was my computer
but then when I take the rtp300 out of the loop and connect directly to the modem then no problem -
I have a firewall (sygate spf) which I tried turning off I have three browsers: IE Firefox Netscape
all of which are not able to access the site although netscape and firefox both return an "operation timed out" error
I'm stumped -
is there a way to uninstall and reinstall the rtp300? |

Before you do that, try going to the RTP300 administration page (192.168.15.1, default user/password both admin) and checking the security and access restriction tabs. See if there is anything suspicious there. The RTP can be set up to block a computer from internet access, but I don't understand how you would block it from just one site. Nevertheless, you can take a look.
If worse comes to worst, you can restore factory defaults on the RTP300 by pressing the reset button on the back panel (it's recessed inside and you'll need a probe to do it) and holding it in for about 45 seconds. |

I went and gave that a try - 192.168.15.1 and checking for any wierdness but all seems fiine - I even reset the unit from behind and to no avail - I also read somewhere on the web about resetting the mtu to 1492 or down to 1300 but none of these work - If I had a wit then this would be the end - truly it makes no sense I can see!
I even checked the host file and there's nothing their!
thanks for the suggestions! |
