Hello, I have the 7310 and i am having issues getting this to work with Vonage. I have gone through about 3 days worth of time on the phone with Vonage and HP, we have gone through all the settings such as the following. Set baud to 9600 through the r/w settings not the HP setup menu turn off Error Correction make sure i am using a 2 conductor telephone line Replacement of machine from HP to make sure it wasn't the fax hardware *99 to change the packet type (only gives a fast busy signal Tried sending/receiving faxes on my voice line rather than the dedicated fax line With all of these settings i cannot seem to get my machine to successfully send/receive faxes consistently, currently it will take 4-5 attempts to get a fax to go through, sometimes more. Vonage says they have changed all settings they could possibly change and came to the conclusion that thir service will not work for me. What i dent understand is why not? I have read on this forum that others have the 7310xi and it works fine on Vonage. I contacted HP to find out the difference and this is totally hilarious the difference is that the xi comes with a USB cable the normal one doesn't and you have to buy it separately. The hardware is all the same. So why would one customer have no issues and i have all of these inconsistencies? If anyone has any ideas i would love to hear them. Thanks, Joseph Crawford |

THis has been resolved thanks to HP and to think i almost switched Voip Providers because Vonage couldnt help me get this working.
If anyone else has this issue or this machine this is what i did
hit * and # at the same time, enter the code 123 hit the right > until you get to System Configuration hit OK hit the right > until you get to r/w parameter hit OK enter the parameter 153 hit enter, enter the value of 6 hit OK now hit cancel until you are back to the date time screen
This worked perfect for me
Vonage had me setting 153 to 2 and 159 to 2 and it never worked maybe 1 out of 4 would go through or be recieved, now it has 100% consistancy
Glad i didnt switch Voip providers because that would mean i would have to change my phone # |

ok so i am starting to think that it is a Vonage issue afterall, yesterday it seemed to work fine, sending and recieving every fax i sent (probably around 5) this morning it is failing everytime, **** could be going wrong with this.
Anyone know when Vonage plans to support T.38? |

Maybe it is a Vonage issue. Why don't you post the technical items listed in the sticky at the top of the Voip forum and let us take a look at it? |

What I mean is, the administrator has made a message sticky on the Voip forum. You can find it here. It lists the information that you should post about your system and the problem to let us diagnose Vonage problems. |

Your packet discards are a bit high on the uplink, but not alarmingly so. I don't see any reason why your fax shouldn't be working with Vonage. |

that's just it nobody at Vonage can figure out why it happens yet it happens. too many techs say well i guess you cant use our service, sorry. that is not acceptable for me.
i dont want to switch Voip providers unless i absolutely have to. I would be switching to verizon and i doubt i would have these troubles with them. |
