Hi I live in Orlando and when I dial the 933 # to see if I have e911 it says I do not. From what I understand on press releases from Vonage Orlando should have e911. Does anyone in the Orlando area (or official Vonage. Know if it is here and for all Orange county, FL.
Thanks |

There may be a problem with the information you hear when you dial 933 and what is really going on. To make sure, you will need to do a test call. Just do it and immediately let the operator know your are doing a test call.
I left a vm for Vonage executive offices and got a call back last night concerning this issue. They are going to look into it and get back to me by next week. |

Supposedly we have e911 access in Hillsborough County,FL (Tampa), but when I dial 933 it dosen't make any distinction between whether this is e911 or regular 911. |

What do you hear when you dial 933? How do you know if it is e911? When I dial 933, it says '911 is enabled on this line. Your 911 call will be routed to a national emergency response center and a trained agent will contact an emergency center near you to dispatch help. You may need to verify your name and address to the agent....'
What does that mean? Is it e911? |

Hmmm... I get a different message in Tampa:
"911 dialing is currently enabled for this phone. Your 911 calls are routed to an emergency response center as described in the features section of our website. You will need to provide your name and address to the agent."
So, it sounds like I'm not getting e911, but it does sound like the calls are getting routed to the local 911 center instead of the national one. |

I am in Ocoee, FL (Orange County) and I just dialed 933.
It stated "Enhanced 911 is currently enabled for this phone..."

That sounds pretty clear. I'm in Orlando and getting the message about being routed to an emergency center. Sounds like E911 is getting close, though. |
