my wireless network does not work when on the vonage phone

i have comcast broadband, linksys everything (cable modem - BEFCMU10, wireless router - WRT54G, Vonage box) and a sony phone. when i am on the phone, my wireless network becomes unavailable.

any ideas?

What kind of phone do you have? I mean, corded or cordless? What frequency of cordless?

If you have a 2.4 GHz cordless phone, it can interfere with a WiFi network since the two devices use the same frequencies.

That is likely your problem.

You'll need to get a different cordless phone, if this is the case - at 900 MHz or 5.8 GHz. Alternatively, you can try to change the channel on which your WiFi network works (channel 6 is default; channel 1 or 11 is better). This might let your phone work. You can try it.
