Post subject: Smooth Transfer from Talk America on SBC lines in Michigan
Just wanted to throw my two cents in.
We started a LNP on 1/31/2006 after evaluating
Vonage
for a few weeks. Our local & long distance carrier was Talk America. Our local copper lines here in Western Michigan are owned by SBC. The LNP transfer was completed on 2/15/2006.
The only minor glitch was that
Vonage
initially indicated that my Talk America line was an ISDN line. After talking to Talk America they indicated that they have had several similar issues from
Vonage
LNP's and Talk America does not offer any digital line services. I called
Vonage
back and they pushed the LNP through without any further questions.
It was interesting during the transition. I was able to call out from my land line to my
Vonage
line by dialing my old number that I was transferring over. i.e I called 123-4567 (
Vonage
) from 123-4567(land line) with caller id showing as 123-4567.
As of this morning (2/16/2006) my local line is dead. Time to hook the PAP2 up to the house wiring.
