I had been using Vonage for about 2 months with the above hard ware and had absolutely flawless performance. Now, when I pick up my cordless phone I get a HUGE amount of static & line noise before I can even make a call. The only thing that remedies this is turning off the access point. Once I do that, the call works perfectly. I've tried switching cables and phones but the only constant has been turning the Access Point off. Any ideas?

1. Your location Bronx, NY
2. Your ISP name and type (cable, DSL, wireless etc)
Cable (Cablevision)
3. Upload and download speeds
4Mbps down 128k up (I think....the speed tests looked funky)
4. Modem make and model Motorola sbv5120
5. Type of Vonage adapter used ie RT31P2 or PAP2
R31p2
6. Setup of Network ie Modem---->Vonage Adapter-->PC
Modem ---> rt31p2 -----> Wap54g

7. Issue you are experiencing ie dropped calls, choppy audio etc
VERY loud noise/interference

8. DETAILED results from www.testyourvoip.com with a test call to Boston.

Do you have the same problem if you use a simple analog phone instead of the cordless? A 5.8 GHz cordless shouldn't interfere with a wireless router, but I've heard that some 5.8 GHz cordless phones are actually 5.8 in one direction and 2.4 in the other (!). In any case, the first step is to try a non-cordless and see if that's the issue.
