I have signed recently with VonageVoip phone service, I have Classic phone tool 4.2 version (phone/Fax) that came with Dell Dimension 4600i . I could successively send Fax through my Classic phone tool over Vonage service but unfortunately the system is not receiving any FAX . I would appreciate anyones help or any recommendation to configure/set up/ synchronize the communication between the classic phone tool and Vonage service. The modem in my PC is Conexant SmartHSFi V92 56K Speakerphone (1/1).
it refers to windows 2003 but should be similiar. Otherwise you'll need to find the AT or S-register command to slow modem down by init command.
As for sending out faxes, you can increase the likelyhood of less problems, by checkng the "To disable call waiting dial" and inputting *99 in the box next to it.
Thanks to all who reply, the problem is when I disable the classic phone tool (BVRP) and I connect Canon multifunction printer ( set as Fax/Tel or Fax only, buad set 9600 as suggested by Vonage, and ECM is set to OFF) the fax machine kicks On when I dial my Vonage phone number from my cell phone, and of course the automatic answering option on Vonage will not pick up the call. I did not try to send Fax from the Canon multifunction over Vonage service. However I received Fax on Canon when the voice mail in Vonage was disabled. I do not get much fax documents, however it is difficult to keep the Vonage voice mail disabled. any suggestion would be appreciated.
