Sorry if this has been posted already - I didn't see it.

It looks like there is a new feature that we all get. It is called Simul-Ring and it allows your vonage phone and a 2nd phone number (like cell) to ring at the *same* time. It looks very cool. More info at:

http://www.vonage.com/features_call_forward.php

I haven't tried it yet, if anyone has, post your comments here.

This has been available since before I signed up. However, I find that my cell phone takes awhile to start ringing, so sometimes the cell phone does not ring, or just blips a ring before the call is otherwise handled. This isn't Vonage's fault -- it will try to ring the other line as long as you set it up for. The problem is I don't want to have people waiting 60 seconds for voice mail just so my cell has a chance to ring.

I use this part of the service all the time. I use my vonage line for my Home Office and this service is great when I leave the house it rings straight through. If your Cell is not ringing right away it is most likley to be the wireless carrier not having a strong signal.

I like for the VM to left on Vonage and not the cell anyway...so you will need to set the number of seconds so that you cell does not ring and pick up the vm ( I use 25). No one wants to listen to the rings any longer anyway.

I also use the the email notifcation to ping my cell when someone leave a message on Vonage. This is a real is helpful so you dont have to worry about checking your VM when your out unless you get a text message.

I really like vonage service and after some problems with my router out of the gate I have not dropped a call in almost 2 months. The savings for me is hundreds of dollars per month....Good Luck.

I like this feature; unfortunately, I cannot use it full-time due to a non-Vonage issue.

I turned this feature on once to ring my cell simultaneously when I left the house; it worked perfectly! My guess on the feature's implementation is as follows... When a caller calls the house, Vonage sees it and, while ringing my house line, it forwards the call to my cell. If I pick up the house phone, Vonage hangs up on my cell; if I pick up my cell, Vonage hangs up on my house line. (This is just a guess.)

The next time I went to work, I noticed an issue that took some time to figure out. I work in a building in which my provider's signal is very weak; when I'm there, my phone has no signal and I cannot send/receive calls on my cell.

My cell is also set up to send the caller to its voice mail when it is off or without signal.

Imagine what happened when someone called the house. Due to the simultaneous ring feature, Vonage called/forwarded to my cell. Since my cell had no signal, the call was forwarded directly to its voice mail. From Vonage's point of view, my cell picked up the call immediately, and the call was disconnected at home.

Due to the cell lag, all someone heard at home was half a ring for each phone call, and the caller immediately got my cell's voice mail!

So anyway, I'm sure this is nothing that concerns Vonage; however, if anyone has a similar issue, I hope this helps.

This feature is great. I have used it since I signed up for Vonage nearly three years ago. It is no longer necessary for me to reveal my mobile number, so I don't need to hand out two or three numbers for people to reach me... just the Vonage number and they can contact me anytime.

As far as voice messaging issues, I contacted my mobile phone company and had the voice messaging turned off, so now I am not concerned about calls being intercepted on my mobile phone, and all messages are left on my Vonage line.

That's actually pretty great! I didn't consider getting voicemail disabled on my cell. It's not something I'd personally do, but now I'm thinking that, yes, it would work in the case I do not answer my cell.

However, suppose all forwarding and voice mail are disabled on my cell, and my cell is either turned off or I get no signal. If someone calls my cell, won't he get a fast-busy signal? In this case, what would happen when someone calls the Vonage number set up with simultaneous ringing? Won't the same thing happen--the "cell" will respond, except this time with a fast-busy?

I have the simul-ring go to my cell also but I use the cell voicemail, not Vonage. I suggest Vonage voicemail be turned off.

After all, the cell is always with me, at home or away, so I get VM notification.

I am able to advise people "one number, all the time" to reach me.

I like SimulRing. I have it ring my Vonage phone and my cell phone. However, if I'm using my cell phone when a call comes in, my Vonage phone rings like have a ring and then it goes to my Cell phone voicemail. I don't understand why I don't get the call waiting been on my cell phone with the name/number caller ID shown and have the Vonage phone ring for a while until one of the voice mails pick up.
