Unfortunately, you are in Ill.
The Attorney General, Mike Cox , is very concerned about the inablility of getting 911 service in mMchigan. It is a public safety issue, not just an issue of poor service. He has issued consumer alerts on the subject.
http://www.michigan.gov/ag/0,1607,7-164-34739_20942-114688--,00.html,
and even asks for complaints about
voip
in the consumer alert. "

He asked for complaints, so I gave him one. If he is sensear in his concern about public safety, then I expect he wil take action if indeed comcast is blocking our
voip
lines, which meand blocking our access to 11 n an emergency.

funny, I did a cut and paste, but it didn't work on mine either.

http://www.michigan.gov/ag
Then go to site map
The go to
News & Information
• Publications
• Consumer Alerts
and click on consumer alerts
the link is under both general advice and internet.
Good luck

I'm in Du Page County and a Comcast customer with a Motorola SB5100 and an RTP300 and so far, I've had no problems, knock on wood, throw pepper over my shoulder (or whatever that's supposed to be), etc.

Post subject: comcast in michigan
I'm not at home, so I have not tried my phone. However, I did check my
vonage
account, and noticed that the comcast service announcement was no longer on the web site. But now it is back. Does anybody know what happened?
There have been over 2000 views on the thread, obviously a popular problem.
Is this thread monitored by
vonage
and can someone from the company tell us what is going on to resolve the problem?

Ugh, I've been hit with the problem. I'm in Chicago and no one can understand a word I'm saying. Although I still do hear everyone as clear as day. I called Comcast up 30 minutes ago and their suggestion was to upgrade me to 6MB down (up from 4). They thought that might fix the problem. Well, it didn't. At least, not yet.
I'm not really sure what else to do at this point. They've essentially made my phone useless and my cell phone doesn't work in my old brick building.

Welcome to the club. Comcast playing very stupid even though it's clear they are having major issues throughout the Midwest.

The
Vonage
Service Status states there is a service interruption in the midwest with Comcast Customers.
The Comcast Site states there are no service issues at this time.
I am having issues with disconnections on my phone only. Everything else so far is running smooth. ( Wasn't the case last Comcast Service interruption affected my aera )
My question is this.. How does
Vonage
know to issue a Comcast Service interruption when Comcast does not acknowledge it. This is getting very confusing and frusterating.
