I don't see any dots that need be connected with the arrival of that letter.

Methinks too many folks here probably believe in aliens at Roswell, too. Rolling Eyes

I've had AT&T's callvantage VOIP product for over a year and I use Comcast's high speed data product. I've had no issues.

More latency once again this morning. I have tracked down some contact information and sent in the following email. I'll post back if I get any useful response.

Hi, I have measured consistent latency between 192.205.32.126 (att-gw.chi.gblx.net) and 63.210.19.18 (vonage-holdings-corp-toll-free-nwrk.ge-2-3-0.403.ar1.nyc.gblx.net. Can you check the config on your routers or advise on the cause of this latency? Seems to be consistent during the morning hours.

Please advise.

Thanks,
Kevin

I understand the C numbers are low individually but additive.
Look at the jump into ATT(still low but additive).
The 4 hopps at 40 is more time than the 11 at 10.
I'd say even with the round robbin of metrodetroit C is doing pretty good compared to ATT on the east side toward nj?

Interesting thread. But ICMP tools have their limits and I think some of you have exhausted them. How about sniffing your SIP and RTP traffic when you have these issues and posting some of that here? Thus, is this a SIP signaling problem? Do the folks having the problem talk to the same SIP servers, while those of us like me with Vonage working fine at home via cable modem are using different proxies? And what does the media traffic look like?

A quick ethereal capture can help generate some of this data...

Pingplotter Pro (trial ver or regged) allows you to specify packet type, so you can probe via ICMP, TCP, UDP. For TCP packets, you can specify port and also payload and some other stuff I don't understand...

FWIW, down here in Florida, I'm just seeing the usual Comcrap problems over the past few weeks, but none of the Comcast vs. Vonage issues. Actually, I'm impressed, just checked the loggers & my last Comcast outage was 4 days ago! I'm used to seeing them drop out about every 24-36 hrs, so they've actually improved!

The modem logs or some other external software logs?
