I haven't had any trouble with Vonage over Comcast yet, but it's been 2 weeks since I've been on a Comcast IP... will have my Vonage box attached to 4 different Comcast IPs next week, so we'll see if something's up.

Able to access www.zoom-phone.com

Previously was not able to hold a five minute conversation until ausbeer fixed my router settings to compensate for the packet loss and discards. Had one lost call on 5-14-2006 was after 47 minutes , call was from flint michigan to OKC the call was not completely dropped just voice on both sides as my phone was still timing the call. Time of call - 12:30pm

Just a little scary...I don't "notice" any issues with my [vonage] service...always seems to work well. I'm sure I have something screwy going on, however everything is setup DHCP (PC/Vonage -> WRT54G -> Cable Modem -> internet)!? Ran the trace routes at 12:30 am CST (just now).

Tomolly -

Vonage and zoom-phone are obviously behind a router that does not allow TRACERT information or IGMP packets (PINGs) to traverse the router. This isn't too unusual a practice for a web site.

In this case, the "locked" router is 204.70.151.162, which is on the same class "B" subnet (255.255.0.0) as savvis.net, so I assume it is savvis who is doing the blocking.

And since Savvis is a web hosting company, I suspect that's who manages Vonage's main web site, and zoom-phone's as well.

The boys at Comcast are up to something again. I will post my test results when I get home tonight. Thanks to all for staying on top of this issue. I still have raw nerves from when Ameritech/SBC jacked around my DSL provider when that technology just hit the scene.

How many people here have a combination of comcast cable, a motorola Surfboard 5100 series cable modem, and one of the silver TI Linksys devices? (WRTP54G or RTP300, NOT RT31P2)

I have Comcast 8M down 768K up with an SB5120 and a Linksys RT31P2. I know you specified not RT31P2 but I thought this may help prove your theory as I am having no problems at all with my Vonage service. I have the RT31P2 behind my router with QoS enabled outbound. I do get 8.4M down and 690K up at Myspeed consistently though.
