anyone else in Michigan having several problems with there service?
Mine are no voicemail indicator is showing up. No voicemail attatchment notification is coming to my email.
When I came home and seen calls were placed here but no voicemail notification on my phone. Checked out of curiousity - called my voicemail and there were several.
Dropped calls, also the other party can hear me but i can't hear them at times.
I'm on hold with CS @ Vonage right now....... waiting to see if theres more of a problem going on than stated on the Service Status. |

Well, the service announcement does refer to both "choppy/static audio" AND "accessing www.vonage.com", so it sounds like something is seriously hosed between your area and Vonage.
Did Comcast just introduce their own Voip in your area? (grin) |

I have the same issues in the Chicago area as are reported in Michigan. I can hear callers fine, they hear me all choppy. Also, access to Vonage website is either very slow, or I get a 404 error. Comcast says that there is no problem with their service and I should call Vonage.
The finger pointing begins.......

Just got off the phone with Tech Support level 2. He had me re set my voicemail settings. Then he fiddled with my router settingssssss......... I Tried to tell him all the issues I had with dropped calls before and they were finally resolved when a diff tech support changed the settings...... now I'm hoping the dropped call syndrome does not start up again..
Also He stated Comcast is doing something in my aera and it has to do with Vonage....... he wouldn't get into the specifics though.
What was wierd though, He said if I still have issues....( and they will be because of what Comcast is doing ) to Call Vonages Tech support back tomorrow..
wonder whats brewing up........... hmmmmmmm |

This kind of thing really ticks me off. If I did an upgrade at work that caused production systems to stop working I would not be working there long. That companies with millions of customers can knowingly make changes that will screw up service to wide areas shows a complete disregard for the customer. But we all knew that was true so I guess no surprise there. A way to persuade people to buy Comcast's (more expensive) version of VOIP????? |

Just idle speculation, but I wonder if there is some routing reconfiguration going on in their network to prioritize VOIP/SIP traffic, i.e. comcast Voip goes first, then other providers. Their webpage says that an advantage of their service over Vonage and CallVantage is that those services go over the Internet while Comcast goes over their own network. If it were my service and network that is probably what I would do. |

I am a consultant here in Michigan.
Same problem with Comcast in Galesburg, MI. When an outbound call is made, the receiver can not hear a word that is said. Outbound faxes do not work either.
The Vonage website is not accessible. It either loads super slow or times out.
I went to my customer's site to see what the issue could be. I could not believe that the Vonage site would not load and all other sites worked as quick as lighting. Ran a speed test on the line and everything came back fine. While I was at the customer site, I RDP'ed into my server and allowed my customer to load the Vonage site from there (I do not use Comcast).
Calls to Comcast produced finger pointing at Vonage. Calls to Vonage told me that Comcast had issues.
Here are the facts:
1) Comcast service works fine with all sites/protocols except Vonage. 2) Speed test revealed no problems. 3) No DNS issues found 4) Route was correct with no problems.
It is extremely suspicious to me when all other sites/pages load and Vonage does not (but only form a Comcast Connection).
I wonder if there are legal issues here? It seems to me that this type of blocking should be a violation of free trade or something like like. Are there any lawyers out there?
