I know you can have your calls forwarded to another phone number when there is a Cable Outage.

Lets say you get your Cable turned off because you did not pay your bill.

Question: Would if you just never had your Cable Service turned back on, how long can the calls be forwarded to another number, Indefinitely??

I think as long as you kept dutifully paying Vonage your monthly fee, they'd be happy to forward your calls to your Network Outage Number until the end of time. Wink

Of course, for them, it ties up two POTS gateway ports instead of one POTS port and one Voip port, but I don't think it would cost them terrible amounts of money, if any at all.

NateHoy's right on this one. Since Vonage isn't associated with your cable co, they could care less whether you've paid your cable bill or not. And if you don't pay Vonage, they probably will cut off service until payment is restored to Vonage.

Not sure if this use of forwarding makes economic sense. If you lose your internet service all calls are forwarded to your network unavailable number and you pay (if you have the 500 plan) for this forwarding. In effect you are paying for incoming calls and outgoing calls. But you cant make outgoing calls on Vonage cause you dont have internet service - so you would be paying for something you cant even use. Like stated as long as are a Vonage customer they dont care what you do.

I'm guessing that she wants to get rid of her ISP due to their problems, but wants to keep her number until a new ISP gets into her area.
