What If?

Just out of curiosity, my LNP is still not complete but I have not reached 20 days yet. What is the big deal if my number can't be ported. I could shoot everybody I know an e-mail within minutes with my new number and be fully up and running with Vonage. I'm just wondering why people get so stressed about ths? Smile

In my case I have had the same number for about 12 years. Besides my family and friends there are probably 20 to 30 accounts that I need to update (credit cards, utilities, mortgage, etc). It is not as simple as sending an email to a few friends.

I certainly understand the hassles with calling different companies etc. but it seems that sometimes people put so much effort into keeping their old number that it is self defeating. I have had my number for over twenty years and really hope that the transfer goes smoothly but I'm not going to spend months trying to resolve this if it does not work.

Don't get me wrong I respect people that do this I just wonder if consideration is given to this option, especially after reading some of these entries.

Well it's critical for business. Yellow page ads, business cards, customers all depend on that number being the same.
