Post subject: Vonage and Asheron's Call - help
When I put the Motorola device before my Netgear MR314 I can connect to the point in the game that allows you to choose your character and enter the game....however it hangs at "Entering as XXXX" With the Motorola device off of my router it works fine, but my QOS is poor and wife won't live with that. Any experience with Asheron's call and issues as to
Vonage
? Thanks.

You have 2 choices and one of them might not work for you:
1. Put the MTA in pass-through mode by disabling DHCP on the MTA. Put the MTA in front of your router. This is the way I have mine set and it works great for me with Comcast cable. In this mode the MTA does not do any port forwarding, that job will be handled by your router but the MTA will do QoS. This does not work for everybody.
2. Find the ports that your online game uses. Put the MTA in front of your router and configure port forwarding on the MTA. Send the ports required by your game to the IP address the MTA assigned to your router. Since your router seems to be configured correctly already, there is nothing else you need to do. This will provide QoS, but you will have to manage port forwading from the MTA to the router and from the router to your PC.
