Vonage NEEDS to get on top of the technology to support PBX and other multi line platforms. Small businesses are going to be Vonages bread and butter, but if it can't support this most basic business function it will never get itself off the ground.
If there isn't a phone on the market that you can recommend, then create one. There is real money to be made for Vonage and real money to be saved by us, the customers.
In the mean time, does anyone have a suggestion as to a phone that does work (I know there are some out there)? If I don't find a solution soon, I am going to have to go back to SBC, which I really do not want to do. I really do like the concept and want to support it, but if I can't operate then I am not really given an option. |

I think you might need to be a little bit clearer. As I am using Vonage (2lines) with an ATT PBX now, It works with no issues. I have two COs and 16Extensions. |

I have installed Vonage on three PBX systems. one is an old toshiba with no problems. The 2nd is a newer panasonic TA624 system with no problems and easy to program/install. Tle last is a Vodavi which is more complex and took some teeking of the adapter box to work as the calls were being dropped by the PBX on Vonage lines. Don't expect any support from Vonage or the PBX folks as they are clueless.
Good Luck |

Another vote for asterisk (the trixbox version is a snap to install). It has a very rapidly growing user base, scales to meet just about any business need, and supports a wide variety of IP phones.
I'd even recommend it for moderately tech savy home users with an old PC. Especially those screaming for ACR and call blocking capabilities. The feature set you can have with an asterisk based PBX is almost limitless. |
