hello, i'm new here. i joined since i've been having a few issues with my Vonage service lately. this is a great forum with lots of good info. i apologize if this has been discussed already. i didn't have much luck searching.

i recently downloaded and installed click-2-call on my computer running XP. when i open the program, i enter my username/password, click login, and it seems to hang at 'sending authentication information to Vonage server' . i don't get any error message and it does not time out. i literally let it sit at that screen for 30 minutes with no change. i can log into my web account fine, i'm using lowercase letters for my username as required, and Vonage support has already reset my password. i have an open ticket with Level 2 support, but was wondering if anyone out there has seen this problem and can help. any ideas would be appreciated.

sorry for the multiple posts, but upon searching the forums in more depth, it seems there may be an issue using C2C with the RTP300? which is the router i'm using. some users state the issue was resolved with firmware version 1.00.43. my current firmware is 1.00.60. does anyone know anything about this release? thanks again...

It works on my RTP300, sort of. It will ring my phone, but when I pick up it's just dead air - it never rings through to the number it's supposed to be calling.

I wouldn't think the version of router you're using would cause the authentication to fail, though. At that point you're basically logging on to a secure web service and it shouldn't have anything to do with your router. If you have Thunderbird or Firefox have you tried either of the add-ins written by Scerruti?

well, my authentication isn't exactly 'failing'. it sends my info to the Vonage server, then just hangs, with no errors at all.

as a test, i typed in junk username/password, and that came back with an 'authetication failed' error. so this tells me the info is going out, and coming back if failed, but not 'hooking me up' to my phone when i enter my correct data, for lack of a better term.

i'll search for the FireFox add-ins. are these independent of click-2-call, or do they use the same software?

Try typing in your username in all lower case if you aren't.

Hell, I'd be happy if I was simply able to START click 2 call! I've installed it several times trying to get it to work, but every time I attempt to log in, I get the same result: "Some internal error occurred. Please try again."

I gave up and uninstalled it. I just can't get it to even start.

I have the exact same issue. It validates user/pwd, i.e it fails if wrong, but if ok it just hangs forever....
