Have tried just about every suggestion here and at a half dozen other forums, including activating fax lines. Unfortunately, still cant get the damn thing to connect to lookup new #s, so cant try any other #s other than my old one.
Any other suggestions for trying the fax line or any new advice? I'm in Northern VA FWIW. HR10-250 with the V linksys router, Cox cable
UMP25, do you refer to getting the serial adapters or whatever from 9th Tee? Do you have a great link for instructions on doing this, with the HD Tivo (a beast which has differences from regular directivo's).
If one of those actually works, it might be the easiest route to take. However, I personally prefer to take another route. Have you checked out the Deal Database forum at all?
Hi, if you have a specific link in mind, I'd be grateful to see it pubicly or privately. I have an HD-Tivo and the threads I saw require me to be some kind of Linux programmer guru. I can follow instructions but I don't even understand simple linux commands. Thank you for your time, btw.
Well, I'm no Linux guru, that's for sure, but after a LOT of reading and studying, I was able to modify my DTIVO's to eliminate even the need for a call out. (Note: I am NOT referring to anything illegal. Modifying DTIVO's and TIVO's--"hacking" sounds so illegal--is permissible. Even TIVO has its own community forums for this.)
