Hello. I recently signed up for Vonage and received the Linksys RTP300. I noticed Vonage really likes to lock the router down. Killing ssh access and limiting what settings you can actually edit. I'm trying to determine if these routers can do snmp access, (along with other features). Of course can't really determine that since Vonage locks them down. Is there anyway to unlock it? Thanks |

Search the forums.
Short answer: No, unless you don't want Vonage anymore. It's a violation of the TOS if you unlock a device while using Vonage. |

In the Navy, I mean in the words of NavyDavy2001, He is right. Not to say that it will not happen ie the Pap2, but as of right now they are locked down tight. I do know there are a few groups working on the RTP300 now to see what can be done about it, so keep checking around from time to time. |

Thanks guys. I had done some looking around and found some hacks for the PAP2, but none for the RTP300. I guess Vonage is just really scared people will get free equipment from them and run away with it. Then the rest of us who want to do some more useful things with the router can't =( |

I think they're really scared that people will get into them, mess everything up, and then need a lot of technical support to get things working again. |

Exactly...Just think of how bad the wait would be for everyone tinkering with the settings and FUBAR'ing them up. |
