I just bought a Linksys PAP2 and activated it over the web but it won't connect to the service and give me a dial tone. I called Vonage and the very nice man in Delhi told me they see my device trying to connect but they are having problems on their end with provisioning the device. He said to wait a while and it would fix itself.
The unit has now been plugged in to my cable modem for nearly 24 hours with the internet light flashing but it still doesn't seem to be provisioning.
Has anyone seen anything similar to this before?
Thanks ---- LocatIon: Redmond, WA ISP: Comcast Upload: 300kbps Download: 3000 kbps Adapter: Linksys PAP2 Setup: Phone adapter connected directly to cable modem |

I've used two PAP2s over the last 5 months, and they provisioned in a matter of minutes. I suggest calling CS again and try a different tech, and if they can't get you on line while you are talking, insist on being escalated to the next level of support. |

I agree with Chris, but before you call, try re-cycling power on the entire system. Re-power in the correct order- typically modem, wait, router, wait, adapter/computers. |

I have been having precisely the same problem with a new PAP2 since last friday. Support folks keep saying "try again in 2 hours".
Still the same this morning (monday).
Previously this setup was working with a RT31P2 which died mysteriously 2 weeks ago.
No new info for you, but at least you know you're not alone. --- LocatIon: San Francisco, CA ISP: Speakeasy Upload: 380kbps Download: 1500 kbps Adapter: Linksys PAP2 Setup: PAP2 to WRT54G to DSL modem |

Some time this weekend, it finally provisioned successfully. It ended up taking between 24 and 48 hours but it did get there. |
