I have a question. I am looking at getting a single softphone account for multiple users. Would it be possible to have those users log in at the same time and get calls to the same number? Or if a user is logged in the with softphone acocunt and someone else logs in with the same account from another location, will it allow it? Will it dro the first user or will both be connected and able to take that call? |

I didn't think it would work, however, I just called my primary adapter number from my softphone on my PC, and at the same time logged into my account on my Axim and called my primary adapter number. Both logged in, the PC rang the phone, and the Axim went to voicemail. So I would say it could work, but not sure if you're supposed to do that or not. And this limited test might not be a good weather vane, since it was all done from the same location. |

Only one instance can run at a time. (both will be dropped) Soiftphone *does* have all the controls like your main account. This means you can use forwarding and simulring to ring the others.
I use softphone at home. When I go walkabout, I merely make sure the home base softphone is off. Then I can run softphone on my Axim, for free wireless calls. Ann Arbor Michigan is a very wifi friendly town,
Using SJLabs softphone, you can accept multiple incoming for conferences.
Why not just have everyone sign in on Yahoo Pager, then run voice. You can even prepay minutes and make calls to wired lines. "FREE" is the best alternative if you object to paying for service.. |
