How can one get more info re: just what PSAPs were added?
The forum Newsletter stated: "Michigan- Wayne (Detroit and many of its suburbs);"
How can I find out exactly what PSAPs that includes? |

I'm pretty sure the names and locations of the new psap's is a very recent development. so how detailed they're gonna get, I don't know, but I don't think there's a solid way to find out. you can try dialing 933 to see what that message tells you. |

True, but if for some reason the Vonage E911 database entry for me (or anyone else) is screwed up (i.e., pointing to the wrong PSAP), you would never know if you should be already on E911.
Vonage had to phoney up my address to even get me in their E911 database, so I want to be pro active about this issue.
I know my E911 calls should be directed to #3508 PSAP which is a Wayne County "Detroit suburb", so I would like to know if this was included. |

Right here: Vonage® Now Provides Emergency 911 Service In Over 2200 Calling Centers
And your PSAP does not appear on that list, as it is only a most recently added list.
If you search in our news, you might find that your was added in the past few weeks. |

To start I don't have Vonage and have been waiting for E911 to order.
Last Friday when Vonage put out the new PR my county was finally covered. Well, three PSAP's were. So, I was calling Vonage who said that my county wasn't covered so I had to read them their own PR. They could not confirm for me.
I then called my state, county and city 911 officials. Nobody knew what the PSAP number that Vonage is referring to meant to them or me.
I finally got a call from the Vonage "E911 taskforce" and they confirmed that it would work by configuring one of their adapters for my address and calling 911.
I have placed my order to Vonage and am expecting my adapter tonight.
My question is, for future people with my same question: How do you know that the PSAP number in the PR matches your area??
Thanks! |
