Anyone else experience a sudden loss of Vonage or Voip connectivity over Telemex/Prodigy DSL? Mine stopped today, February 1, 2006.

I am not sure about what you are experiencing today, but a Google search of this site for TelMex will show you lot's of issues in the past.

We lost our Mexico City Vonage service sometime over the past week. I'm looking for a way of testing to see if the Vonage ports are being blocked. Does anyone know of a simple way of doing this. Unless I check this, I can't be sure its being blocked.

For starters, I'd do a www.testyourvoip.com test and see if the test works on the standard SIP port (5060). If repeated tests "fall back" to port 6000 but then work from there, then they are trying to block Voip by using very primitve port filtering. You may be able to get Vonage to adjust the ports on your device.

If 5060 and 6000 both fail, they are probably doing some more sophisticated filtering based on data in the packet, and it's not likely Vonage will be able to help you bypass it.
