After Vonage has transferred my number from Sprint, is it my responsibility to cancel service with old telco? Two weeks after my LNP went through I got a bill from Sprint for next month's service. They say that just because I transferred my number, that doesn't mean that my service was cancelled.
Anyone else with a similar experience? Sprint is going to make me pay for the full month ($61) even though LNP went through a week before the next billing cycle.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me. |

I called to cancel only because I wanted to have the satisfaction of telling them to go screw themselves because they won't have me around to screw anymore.
Sorry I can't be much help but I'm sure it's your responsibility to cancel even though some telco's will automatically do it because they no longer own the number.
Contact your states PUCO and complain... Tell them that your old TElco is charging you for a service your not using! |

I had my number ported over from AT&T's CLEC service about a month ago....just to double check that I wasn't still being billed I logged into AT&T's web site, upon login I received a big message saying my service wasn't active.... |

That's not quite right...tell them you're still being billed for service they admit isn't active and they also admit they knew wasn't active at the time of billing |

same thing happened to me... sprint continued to bill for 2 months after LNP transfer. I spent numerous hours trying to explain it to them, but their incompetence is astounding. I finally disputed the charge with Credit Card company I was chargin the bill to and they said they would take care of it. |

Hmmmm... .I wonder if this isn't a Sprint thing.
My number ported on Tuesday, and yesterday I received an email telling me that I had been unsubscribed from SBC's internet billing and would receive one final bill via regular mail.
I don't think I'm going to call at all.
I'd definitely take the time to complain. |
