Yesterday my old number was supposed to be ported according to Vonage customer care. Today my friends can call me using my old telephone number and my old service appears to have shut my phone off.....no dial tone...nothing. Called Vonage today and they said that their logs indicate that my old number has not been ported and to call AT&T and ask them about my service. AT&T said that they had received nothing from Vonage to port my old number or to disconnect my phone. Has anybody else had a similar experience? Any ideas as to what is going on here?TIA........Lonnie
I want to add that I think Vonage is great! Only had one bad experience with customer service. |

I found out that SBC and AT&T have merged. I checked ownership of my old number this morning and it is still owned by SBC so.....I'm still confused. |

Go here and put in yor phone number and click on continue and go to the next page. Put a check in the box on that page and click continue again. Should tell who owns the phone number. http://nextelonline.nextel.com/NASApp/wnp/en/Action/PECLanding |

Number was ported on Feb. 1, 2006 exactly 12 days after calling Vonage to buy their service. Vonage is great!!! |

That's true, but not worth a whole lot. Just call, say, Verizon and tell them about what the Nextel link says and see what that does for you....lol. |
