The Sony is the only phone I have right now.

Port forwarding??

Borrow one for the test. I have all the phones in my house hooked to the moto box and they all ring.

As for port forwarding, that's something to try with your router. See the Vonage "troubleshooting" guide and your router's instruction manual for doing that.

In most cases you have to set up Port Forwarding if you use a router. I know that my Phone will not ring if it is not set up correctly. I have used several phone with the MTA and all have worked. My Vtech 2.4GHz Model 2498 is great with a corded desk phone and a cordless as well.

good luck

It was the Sony phone.

I purchased the Uniden TRR8885-2 that was recommended in another thread and it rings just fine. (Nice phone... and its 5.8 GHz frequency should avoid any interference with my wireless g network.)

Did not have to setup any port forwarding even though the MTA is connected to the Linksys router.

i have went through 2 phone purchases, a ge and a uniden, and still no ring in, my caller id wont even work now unless i am in a conversation. called Vonage and they will replace my cisco ata with a motorola for 100 dollars so i have decided to just get a packet 8 and forward my Vonage to the packet 8 service, will cancel Vonage as soon as i can get my number ported. hate to give up on Vonage, it has been good for 10 months as a replacement for the land line but when the cisco device states a one year warranty and Vonage only offers 30 days something is fishy

Why don't you buy Motorola MTA from radio shack and get mail-in-rebate and 2 months free etc.

got a phone call from Vonage tech support yesterday. we went thru all the troubleshooting for the ata, i was confirmed bad, they did get a 10 year old unisonic phone to ring but i dont want to use that one due to no cller id ect. i have unhooked my cisco ata since it is confirmed bad but i cant afford to replace it for the 100 dollars or even the 80 dollars at radio shack as suggested earlier in the thread. i have placed the Vonage line on forward to my packet 8 line, that by the way rings everything i hook up to it. need to keep the Vonage service untill my house sells, that number is on all the papers and advertizements. really miss the features that Vonage offered but love the reliability of the packet 8 service.
