I just got my service setup and it's great, using a guide I found on these forums to setup my Vonage through my home wiring, but ..
I'm trying to setup static routes on the RTP300 router they sent me. On the router it replaced I was able to do this without problem but I can't seem to find the setting or group of settings I need to do to setup static routes.
Anyone know how to do this via the RTP300. |

I have the same unit as you do, I've have found I too was not able to do what you are trying to do. To fix this Problem I see as of late that the RTP 300 has a recent new Firmware. (60) Now Im able to do what you are trying to do. But before we get started, My Question I have is if your useing a Static IP or DHCP IP. as there is a difference. Let me know And I'll help you out. |

I'm pulling the IP from the cable modem DHCP as well as the router is running in DHCP mode. What I'd like to do and have done on all my other routers is route by mac address, IE 00-00-00-00-00-00 = 192.168.15.100, 01-01-01-01-01-01 = 192.168.15.101, etc .. I'm gonna check and probably upgrade to the new firmware here sooni. |

The New fireware is auto installed on the RTP 300. So after that you should be able to setup the way you want. The problem I was having was that no matter what I did. I could not get outside in the DMZ zone. It was still being firewalled. Now with the fireware installed. I can get out and its no londer firewalled. ports are wide open. when you login to your unit. check the fireware ver. Top Right hand corner. and be sure to check your ports after what you do for firewall protection. www.grc.com click on shields up. |

I did notice that my router was upgraded. Now I just need to figure out how to do the macfiltering.
Thanks for the heads up, I'd have never noticed. |

ok now that you have the newest firmware, you should be able to do the setting that you want to do. just as you did before. Everything should be fine and work as you need it too. My problem was that after puting system into the DMZ zone. you still had the firewall up and running. now it don't. So if you use DMZ Zone. be sure to check your system over at www.grc.com and click on the shields up to test. Just go into setting and clone the Mac and go for the attack. |
