I think the DMZ feature is pretty new in the Motorola. This would be ideal for connecting a router to the PC port of the Motorola - allowing the MTA to do its QOS thing while at the same time forwarding all inbound non-voice flows to your router.
I tried it and DNS won't work. I think the only thing that gets through is pings (ICMP).
Who has gotten it to work? |

Yes, I thought the same thing (I have 1.16d loaded). The problem is ICMP goes through but no TCP or UDP. In fact, I thought maybe it was just DNS, but you could say:
ping x.x.x.x and get a response, but telnet x.x.x.x 80 would not work nor any other access direct to the IP.
I wonder if it is the "double NAT" -- should work, each NAT should encapsulate its own stuff. I didn't try it hooked right up to a PC (but then again, why would I want to DMZ my PC?).
As far as I can tell, this isn't really working. |

A couple of days ago, I talked to a Vonage support guy. He was not sure whether the DMZ feature was supposed to be working or not. |
