I've noticed on the forums that a few people have had this problem, but I haven't seen any resolution.

I have a Sony ITM804 (4 line business phone). It has call waiting CID. When I put two POTS lines in for lines 1&2 or lines 3&4, the incoming caller ID works fine.

When I put two Vonage lines in for lines 1&2 or lines 3&4, incoming caller ID works fine.

BUT... if I put both sets of lines in at the same time (that is Vonage on lines 1&2 and POTS on 3&4 or vice versa) then no line gets incoming caller ID! None at all...

Any ideas. I love the phone, but I would hate to give up caller ID. Does anyone have a 3 or 4 line phone that does this successfuly?

For the record, Vonage tech support says:

In regards to your email, we regret to inform you that Vonage does not
support multiple-line telephones having POTS/Vonage lines together.

The only possible solution to your problem is to get two different
phones.

Ok, also for the record. I picked up a Casio/Phonemate PMG4600 4 line phone at Outpost for about $80 and IT WORKS! Caller ID on all 4 lines... woo hoo!

I had a very similar caller ID problem but with an AT&T 2 line phone model #972. My setup is Line 1 is my POTS home phone # with DSL on it. Line 2 is my Vonage business # coming straight out my Moto VT1005.

I tried everything I could to make the caller ID work on both lines at the same time and it simply would not. I can say with confidence that using filters, splitters, 4 wire cables, 2 wire cables, swapping ports did nothing to fix the problem.

I then went out and bought an AT&T 4 line model #974.
On the first try it worked perfectly!! Very Happy

I am using 2 wire cable for both lines, not sure if that makes much difference over using the 4 line ones..

Plugging each cable into the jacks it ends up being that the phone detects use on Line 1 and Line 3, but I can certainly live with that. I will experiment to see if I can get it to work as Line 1 & Line 2 by combining using a splitter, but my gut feeling is it might not, since I think it could be that there's some signal bleed from the POTS and Vonage line which might confuse the caller id data, thus explaining why my 2 line didn't work, but it's just a theory..

I also bought an RCA 4 line model #25414RE3 since I wasn't sure if the 4 line AT&T would work. To my surprise, it also worked right out of the box with no issues at all, using the same setup as above.

So the 972 model is going back tonight, and whichever I like less, the AT&T or the RCA...but am very happy to say that there *IS* a solution!!

PS - To the official Vonage support line of "we don't officially support multiline phones", I say that "officially **** eggs, we shouldn't have do the dirty work for you!"
