I tried the suggestion of disabling the wireless feature but that did not work. I will try power cycling the router and see what happens.

Power cycling the router did NOT initiate a firmware upgrade to 1.00.60 as of this post. Oh well no big problem for now anyway, but it does seem strange that it has not updated like it did when I first installed the router. Any ideas anyone?

I think the question here is WHO is updating new devices, when they are purchased commerically, and prior to registration with Vonage?

Linksys? Maybe, I doubt it though. It very well could be Vonage.

No you may NOT be. I was at 1.00.18 and CS said I was at the most current version at that time was 1.00.58. I was having a real echo problem and was about to give up and discontinue my Vonage service. After getting a tip from the user group that said I needed to disable my wireless portion of the router, I am using the WRTP54G router, before the upgrade will take. I called CS again and insisted that they send the firmware again. This time when I got off the phone my modem router started to flash and then rebooted. When the system came back I was at 1.00.58 and all my problems were gone. I mean really gone, the sound was really great. I think that when they send the firmware upgrade they stamp something with this information, but somehow if it errors off there is a disconnect with the information that CS has. If the router setup has the firmware different than what CS says you have be diligent the setup screen os probably correct. Hope this helps. Remember don't take no for an answer.

I am at 1.00.58 and .60 has not been pushed yet.

Just cycled router power and still at .58

I guess patience is needed??

Could someone with a WRTP54G check a setting on their router for me? On the Administration tab and the Management sub-tab should the "Remote Router Access" for the web be enabled or disabled? Per the notes, enabling this option allows for the remote upgrading of the routers firmware from a remote location.

I may have disabled this option when I went in and set up the router initially and this would explain why the router has not been automatically updated to firmware 1.00.60.

The remote access feature on or off will have no bearing on your update. It still will get it off.
