the firmware they show you have and the firmware you actually have are not necessarily the same. if you have .30 you do not have the latest. also just to make sure, you have the WRTP54G right? (not the WRT54GP2)

reebok is right. Their records may show that they have pushed .60 to you, but it is what appears on the firmware web page that really matters. If it says .30, then that is what you have.

You sometimes need to work at convincing the help desk to do another push. There are also instructions on manually upgrading your router on this forum. See this thread:

You have to first get up graded to version 37. - You can't go from that far back all the to 60 - it will fail. Go to 37 first, then to 60.

Just disable the wireless, reboot wait for it to upgrade then reenable wireless. Has failed to work for one customer yet.

Even with the issue raised by ColdGin?

Greetings all,

I have the WRTP54G linksys router but I am not currently a subscriber to Vonage, but I will be in the near future. My firmware version is currently 1.00.58 and I see that the latest firmware is now 1.00.60. Do I have to subscribe to Vonage before my router is updated to .60 or will it be automatically pushed to me?

Yep, probabally brought at least 20 people from .20 to .58, haven't tried to .60 yet but it should work.

If your device is not a registered device with Vonage, i.e. they can identify it by MAC address/account and so forth, I see no reason why it would automatically update. However, if the device has someone's pre-loaded information on it, it just might. (In other words, Ebay buy.)

Who would push it to you? I think you have to subscribe.

I bought the WRTP54G new from Best Buy last weekend and no, the device is not registered with Vonage. But I do remember when I first set up the router it had version 1.00.52 and it updated in less than 10 minutes to version 1.00.58. Just curious as to why it has not automatically updated to 1.00.60.
