I have recently subscribed to the service and am broadly happy. However I have an intermittent problem with a crackling sound on the line. I have followed the instructions in the help section on the Vonage website, having replaced cables and moved nearby electrical appliances etc but no success. Swapping telephones doesn't solve the problem either. This happens both with a fixed 'phone and a cordless one. Any ideas please?
Hi - I don't have an aswer for you, but just wanted to say that you are not alone with this. I have been on to technical support and done the same things you have. Trouble is with me it is intermittent, some calls are perfectly fine, and others have a crackle or what I thought was the volume too high at the other end causing the volume to distort.
I tried removing all phones and just pluggin the one phone directly into the phone adapter, it helped a bit , but still the ocassional call had problems.
I think it's just something we have to live with. The money I'm saving makes putting up with the odd bad call worth it. Some people have said just put the phone down when you get one of these calls and try again - should sort it.

When exactly is it crackly? When you're speaking, when the other party is speaking, and does it happen even during the silent portions of the conversation?

Now here's the deal....I have never experienced what you are talking about...but I have just swapped Internet service providers....and I am now experiencing the popping and crackling for the first time ever!
