VonageTPA,

Not sure what you mean by "obscure problems, which are avoidable."

As i mentioned several posts ago, my CID isn't working properly and I'm having problems calling into certain voicemail systems. These problems started with .60. Are you suggesting that there are things I can do to "avoid" these problems?

Did you mean "ignorable", rather than "avoidable"?

I've yet to hit any of those issues. Caller ID's working perfectly, no problems with voice mail systems answering,etc, and as you can see, I'm on the phone quite a bit. I DO know that Sprint had some issues which were causing all sorts of headaches for anyone with ported numbers (even those who didn't use Vonage). Does going back to 1.00.58 "fix" these issues for you?

Well, it seems the "white noise" issue is still there. My wife just called from work, I picked up the phone after caller-id appeared, and we could both hear the "white noise".

This is d*mn frustrating. My wife almost gave up on Vonage during the "reverse echo" fiasco. Now she is ticked off about the noise. Happens intermittently, no pattern that I can see except that it only seems to happen on incoming calls.

VonageTPA,

I suspect rolling back to 58 would fix my problems, but how do I do that? It is my understanding that CSRs are reluctant to roll back firmware, and I would have to put up with the hassle of dealing with technical support. Besides, can they prevent an automatic update from advancing me to 60 later anyway?

Hmm.. the only call-related issues I've had thus far aren't Vonage's fault.

1) The Sprint LNP list screwup, where they somehow lost all LNP programming in their switches, fixed sometime yesterday (1/27)

2) The Cingular nationwide incoming call outage... Some of Cingular's customers can't receive incoming calls atm. I know I can't reach some Cingular users in California & Florida, and I've tried on all carriers I have access to (Vonage, Verizon landline, AllTel). Cingular says it might be fixed by Monday.

Weird problem.
I don't know if its because of the new firmware or its something else but all of a sudden I don't seem to have stable router. I get packet loss after a few hours or days on the first hop to the router and my msn starts signing in and out. Once I reset the power it goes back to normal. Any clues?

Does the router have "breathing room"? The RT31P2 was known to have overheating issues, and I wouldn't be surprised if the RTP300 had similar issues if the vents were covered up on it.

I don't have anything covering it or causing it to overheat, its temp appears to be fine, the plastic doesnt even feel warm at all. Im trying to confirm that theres nothing wrong with dsl causing the router to always relogin on pppoe and overload/crash? (remote possibility?)

I got the new firmware on my WRTP54G, and now cell phone calls come in 'Cell Phone IL', not caller's name for the cell phone.
