Finally got my BIL to call me from their home phone - CID showed up just fine. They have Comcast Digital Voice and my parents are on Qwest so it does appear to be related to carriers from this limited testing. Oh well, I guess if I don't recognize my parents' phone number by this time then I have bigger problems then CID not working all the time.

Ha ha ha! Very true. If you don't know it by now I tend to think they will be leaving you off next Christmas's gift list!

Odd...my parents just called and the CID properly showed their name this time. This would be so much easier if Uniden had just set up their phones to pull the name from the saved memory on the phone instead of always having to display what comes accross CID. Oh well.

maybe coldgin can answer this.

Had to my turn off dhcp routing - coldgin at .58 and now at .60 I woke up to no phone light and had to reset. Any ideas - but I digress as that is not the question. I log on to the RTP300 on the laptop and see DHCP reply - What is it and is it good.

darn it I put it in wrong thread. moving it to RTP300 thread

BG4, do you mean DHCP relay? It allows the RTP300 to forward DHCP requests on to whatever IP address you specify in the configuration. For example, if you had a central DHCP server you wanted to use to serve all your IP addresses instead of the RTP300. It replaces the destination broadcast address (255.255.255.255) in the DHCP request with the unicast address that you specified. It also puts it's own IP address as the source of the request so the DHCP server knows who to send the request back to. The source mac address remains intact within the dhcp request. The RTP300 will then send the DHCP offer back to the requesting workstation.

Once again, we step backwards with a new firmware release:

1. Intermittently, CID displays "Unknown Name" on calls that displayed properly belore.

2. Calls to some voice mail systems are met with dead air at the point when the caller should be hearing the voice mail greeting.

Both of these issues started upon the release of 1.00.60.

My kingdom for a firmware release that doesn't create new problems!

And now it looks as if there are issues with other people's answering systems, as seen in this thread.

Overall, I'm pretty content with 1.00.60. There are still a few issues left with it, but by large it's pretty good. The issues only happen in a few obscure situations, which are avoidable.
