I'm actually using Bell's DSL and thinking to switch to cable (Videotron). What's involved regarding Vonage and that switch? Do I need a different phone adapter from Vonage? Or Modify some setting on the actual ones? Any other issues?
I prefer to be proactive than walking blind into potential problems.
Thanks in advance! |

Well, Vonage works perfectly well with cable modem.. There's no particular cable modem for that matter, you know.. anyways, you could check this website: getconnected.com... You'll see all the broadband providers available in your area.. But, if you want to stick with DSL.. you could still do that. It's just that you have to downgrade your line to the most basic plan.. Order a second line from your dsl/phone company & you could use that for Vonage service. |

You dont have to do anything different, it will work fine. I had Bell and prefer cable anyday, alot faster.
Do you have the PAP2 or the Linksys router from Vonage?
If you have the PAP2 then you do nothing different, if you have a router the only thing you have to do is go into the router settings and remove the PPPoE option and choose Dynamic IP address.
