I can believe Century Tel would do anything in their power to restrict competition. I
HAD
Century Tel as my local phone service provider for several years and they certainly didn't do anything to make be believe they were interested in being competetive!
It gave me a great deal of joy to be able to tell them just what they could do with their phone service...

Well, I have to say in all fairness that we've had CT as our POTS provider for 3.5 years and DSL provider for about 2 years. In all that time, this is really the only issue we've had (other than we can't get call-waiting-caller-ID). DSL has been rock solid since day 1. While most of my neighbors have comcast Cable Internet service which is *much* faster on download (same on upload) -- they have all sorts of trouble on a weekly basis.
CenturyTel gets a B+ from us -- at least we get to live in the country AND have DSL.
