Hi All, Just signed up for the service yesterday. Signup w/simple & quick, installation a breeze, made first calls - no problem. However when calls are inbound, they ring on a second & seperate line in my house. A call to a very polite tech support agent indicated that until the porting of my current number is done, calls will continue to bounce to the second line (10-14 days to complete). Does this sound right, has any else experienced this? Thanks! |

This is correct. While your number is being ported, it still belongs to your old carrier. Until it's completed, your old landline will continue to receive calls to your number. The exception is that other Vonage customers who call your number will be put through to your Vonage phone.
Vonage should have assigned you a temporary virtual number. Friends who want to call you on you Vonage line can use that until the porting is complete. |
