Post subject: Request help on getting alarm to work
I've read most of the post.. just have a few questions..
I have
Vonage
and a Vista 10 alarm system. I have an IBM Home Director with all the CAT 5 lines run together.
I have the
Vonage
hooked into a room in the back. All jacks work. I moved the Security phone line into the Cat 5 bank.
ADT does not get my call. I turned the phone on and set the alarm off. I can hear the alarm calling and making some weird noises, but that is it.
Any ideas? Do I need the ABN Broadband Adapter?

I would recommend looking into Alarm.com's Upgrade Kit for
Vonage
customers. I was having the same issues with my alarm system a few months ago (signals wouldn't go to the central station through the
Voip
connection). I found Alarm.com on the
Vonage
website and linked to their site and saw the Upgrade Kit offer ($199 installed). It works with
Voip
and it's more secure than a landline or internet line. I've been very happy with the Alarm.com service and they also have some pretty cool additional features like controlling your security system online.

Do some searches. There's plenty of material here and I believe a bunch of people who got their ADT to work. I personally recommend to switch to NextAlarm.com and purchase their ABN Adapter for $99. The monthly cost is less than 1/4 of Alarm.com and it will work with your Vista 10.
