I just tried placing a call to my mom in Missouri. The internet connection went in and out as did the conversation between my mom and I. Does the quality of audio have to do with my phone/wireless internet also?

If I were using digital phone through my cable company, would I have the same problem with a 2.4ghz phone interferring with my wireless?

Yes.

Earlier you asked if you could confirm the problem before going out to buy a new phone. The easiest way is to try to hunt up a simple, non-cordless phone and give it a try. Maybe you can borrow one from somewhere.

And yes, the interference problem could explain the poor quality of your call to your mother. With the router getting interference, all bets are off with your internet service, and your Vonage phone is dependent on that.

Uhh well, no, not exactly. The internet service is wired, from modem to Vonage router to wireless router (or vice-versa, it doesn't really matter which router is first here). The cordless phone is not interfering with the internet service, nor with the Vonage internet connection. The cordless phone IS interfering with the wireless connection from the router to the computer. Actually, it wouldn't even matter if the cordless phone were plugged into a regular POTS line instead and you had no Voip in the picture at all, you'd still have the same interference. This has nothing to do with the Vonage service itself, nor with the internet connection itself. 2.4 GHz phones can interfere with 2.4 GHz wireless links, plain & simple.
