Anyone else having problems with the other callers on regular PSTN hearing their own echo. Had a few people complaining when I phoned them. Local and national. I am in Kelowna, BC. I don't make a lot of calls but once it was a local and just today it was a call to Vancouver.
They said they could hear a big echo of their own voice but I was apparently coming through ok. My ping times to sip.vonage.net are ok with nothing over 150ms and I have 450kbps/4500kps of bandwidth so no problems there. |

Ok your not crazy, mine has been doing the echo thing now for a few weeks! before that it was fine, I did call tech support last week, and made sure my firmware for the router was up to date, he had me go in and change the QOS number or whatever it was, and nothign helped. My bandwith is fine, also i noticed my Vonage router has been rebootign on its own. |

Even though I've used my Vonage line infrequently so far, I too have heard (and have had people on the other end of the call report) echo. Changing the QoS on my router didn't help (and I didn't suspect it would since the "last mile" is still the Internet and that's completely unpredictable).
I'd definitely be interested in hearing others' experiences with ECHO as I'm just about to use Vonage exclusively, and would LOVE for the ECHO to become less frequent. I have a PAP2 and I've read on this forum before that it might have ECHO issues. True, untrue. |
