I submitted for Number transfer to Vonage on 20th Sept 2005. I recvd many emails from Vonage like these ones :

rejected because we are being informed that your telephone number has
been disconnected. In order to transfer a number to our service the
number must be active with the provider you are transferring from. If
you still wish to transfer your phone number to our service, please
reactivate the phone number with your provider and reply to this email
with the providers order number. Also, please be advised you will
need to contact your carrier to insure that your CSR (Customer Service
Record) is updated to reflect any current changes with your account or
account information. Please notify us upon completion so that we can
continue with your number transfer.

your current phone carrier that there are issue(s) with your number
that are preventing the transfer to Vonage. In order to transfer your
number to Vonage, all issues need to be addressed so that we may
process your request:
Your current phone carrier has a different address name on
your account than was provided in your transfer request. For your
security, we must be able to match your account information in order
to transfer your number. Please reply to this email with the full
service address for the phone number that you would like transferred.
Please reply to this email within 30 days or your number transfer
request will be cancelled, and your temporary Vonage number will
become your permanent number. Thank you for your prompt attention to
this matter so that we may process your request in the quickest manner
I struggled for 2 months. Then a Supervisor at Vonage suggested me to cancel the Number Transfer and initiate a new one, which he said he will do it. He did cancel the Transfer , but never initiated. I am stiil trying to catch hold of him... not available.
Finally I restarted the Transfer again on 23rd Dec 2005. This time Vonage guys made me talk to 3PV directly and thus I filled out an LOA over the Telephone. I was waiting .....
Then I sent an email to Vonage and this was the Reply :
|There is a tentative date issued on the log for 1/17/2006. Please do |
keep note that the tentative date is only a "target date" and either
may transfer prior to or may miss that date.
Now today I find that L3 Communications ( my number lies in their network ) has not yet received any request for Transfer. Then I called 3PV and talked to them. They said everything was verified correctly and the information has been sent to Vonage. I again called Vonage and they now again say, that the Address on CSR does not match.
So I called my old carrier ( Lingo ) and told them frankly that I am transferring to Vonage and hence you need to update my CSR for correct address ( although the Bills from Lingo show my correct address ). The guys at Lingo say they have never heard of "CSR".....!!!!
I am so frustrated .... I dont know whom to contact ? Who is going to update my CSR ? I will appreciate any help ...
