I do apologize for the lack of response on the boards. The company has just started requiring all employees to work at least 14 hours over time for each week, and we don't know how long it's going to last. So I have been going in everyday 5 hours early. My life consists of now getting up, going to work, going to sleep then going to work for the week. I really have no time to get on my system, other then check e-mail and then leave.

Sorry for that as long as this overtime lasts you won't see my much on the boards until the Mandatory overtime is over.

Thanks for your understanding.

That's true, and they are not making exceptions for people with sick kids, people on crutches, etc.

But don't worry! They are hiring a whole pack of fresh, new, inexperienced people right now! That will start out making thousands more a year than I do to do the same job! Evil or Very Mad Mad

Hey you two: Just remember, WE APPRECIATE YOU. You do a thankless job and have to listen to people's problems, and probably seldom get a heartfelt "Thank You." We here know what you're up against, and I thank god that people of your caliber are doing what you do. People always whine and moan about cust svc, but sometimes forget to mention those few shining stars.

Shine on you crazy diamonds.

I extend my heartfelt sympathies and understand your plight. I used to work 80-100 hrs/week, so I truly understand the drudgery of such long hours. Going in before dark & leaving after dark really got to me after awhile.

Keep up the good work you guys! I know Vonage does have some experienced (and very friendly) techs out there, and I've had the privledge of talking with quite a few of the Level 3 techs out there and appreciated the late-night chats. I appreciate the tech's willingness to do things not-by-the-book when it comes to configuring my adapter, and it's made my life MUCH easier. I do envy you guys, as I'm a "retired" phone phreak from the heydays of various coloured "boxes" and other nefarious things. Now things have gone digital, and it looks like an awful lot of fun.

I don't know about New Jersey, but in California mandatory overtime is illegal.

I worked for a company years ago; the bos told us we had mandatory overtime.

Someone complained two weeks into it, and they ended up giving us each over $1,000 in immediate bonuses, and begged us quite a bit... and apologized.
