I have Vonage for over a year but I have seen other Voip competitors that are offering more features and more international calls for the same price as Vonage $24.99 for only US, Canada, PR calls. On top of that they offer the ability to use X-lite phone usage FREE, not like Vonage that charges to use it and gives only 500 min of usage/month.

At least provide customer to pick 2 or more international countires for unlimited FREE calls to those countires in addition to the USA,Canada, PR calls.

Will Vonage step up to the plate and keep there lead ahead of the competition and provide more for less and keep their current customers happy and bring new ones through referrals?

Uhhh, sure, and I'd also like them to send me a new Uniden TRU wireless phone system and take over the payments for my monthly cable internet too. Lol

Would I like to? Sure.

Would I rather see them take the money they'd spend on that, and instead focus on features that I stand a snowball's chance in hell of using? Yes. Wink

I'd like to see them finish E911 and have my 911 calls go to my local switching station rather than a dispatch center that then routes to my local switching station involving an extra (unnecessary) operator.

I'd like to see working outbound caller ID with the ability to customize the name I put on my outbound caller ID.

I'd like to see some effort put into expanding the customization options on my WRTP54G, allowing me to adjust handset volume and do other minor system adjustments without having to call Customer Service every time I want to tune a setting. For that matter, I'd love to see some work put into workable QoS with manual upstream override.

I'd like to see Vonage allow SIP-to-Vonage calls. Try as hard as I might, my WRTP54G will not accept them. I'd also like to see Vonage-to-SIP calls, so I could use my Vonage-attached real honest to goodness phones on SIP calls (using click2call, of course, since my analog phone has no way to dial SIP).

Yep, there are other providers who have more features than Vonage, as well as other providers who are cheaper than Vonage... BUT, go check out broadbandreports.com. All of the features in the world are useless if the service is unreliable. Despite what it might appear like on this forum (because this is where everyone seems to come if they have a problem), Vonage still is the most reliable Voip provider. I have well over 10,000 problem-free minutes with Vonage (need to update my sig) and it's been an absolute workhorse in the 6 months I've had it. I would like more features...but given some of the glitches Vonage has had (as well as the entire Voip industry), that money is best spent on beefing up their infrastructure for further growth and improving their tech support staff. The latter is most important for their image, as they are the only employees Vonage customers will ever encounter.

Sure, I'd love more features, but call me UN-American; I'll take reliability over all the bells & whistles, and I'll gladly pay a premium price for that reliability.

I'm new to Voip service so I'm not familiar with the competition. I picked Vonage because it was the first one Google popped up with and I remembered hearing about an "Internet Phone Service" on television and I remembered it began with a V. From what I've seen an experienced so far, I seem to have made the right choice.

I don't call outside of the country so I could care less. Even then I only have the 14.99 500 minute plan, that's fine with me.

The international rates Vonage charges are not that bad at all. If you want to call another country not covered by Vonage for free, why not use a calling card?

Who wouldn't want free international calls? Would be cool.

But, like others have said - there are other things to work on.

my old phone bill was 65 bucks plus international calls I made (which isn't often). Now I pay 27 bucks and my international calls are soo much cheaper. I really can't complain.

I'd be all about the Vonage-to-SIP and SIP-to-Vonage calls though. Then you could use a service like FWD to call international for free. But why would they do that when they can charge us for calling international? I mean, they are a business after all.

I voted no. Nothing good in life is free and nothing that isn't earned through hard work is worth anything.

Plus the only international calls I ever make I bill to someone else so I have no need of free international calls.

But seriously there are a ton of features I would want ahead of free international calling, more importantly I don't particularly care to subsidize the cost of someone elses international calling that is technically what would be happening if Vonage offered the calls for free. If they could afford to offer free international calls then they could alternatively lower my bill even farther, so that is what my vote is cast in favor of.

Voted NO.

I don't have much to add to what others have said here. Ever since my sister returned from Germany, I make very few international calls. There are other features that are higher priority for me.

BTW, no offense intended to our Canadian friends, by not considering calls to Canada as international (although they obviously are). Vonage includes Canada in the package which suits me just fine. My wife is Canadian and we make LOTS of calls there to her family.

I am going go vote No on this one. I would like Vonage to improve its reliablility and fix the E911 issue first. I don't really use Vonage to make international calls, their rate is OK and you have to pay tax on that. The best way to make international calls is to use Skype. Very cheap per minute rate and taxes are included. Give that a try.

Just curious, why calls to Canadas are free bit not to some other country? Anyone thought of that?
