I think it would be nice to see the name along with the number of who I called on the website. I can of course recognize some numbers but occasionally I am looking for a phone number that I know I called, it would be nice to use the Vonage website for this. |

I second the motion!
On the Activity page on the website when I log in, add the "ID" feature currently available for "Received Calls" to the "Placed Calls" listing.
As I get older (and I imagine the same is true for many others), I don't always recognize a number that I dialed two weeks earlier. Since Vonage has the lookup database available, why not add the feature for placed calls as well?! |

Yes, please add this functionality!. I can't tell you how often I've hovered over a placed call and waited in vain for the caller id info to show up. |

Definitly this is a must-have. I joined over a year ago and just ported my wife's number to V. For her calling to people, it's a requirement. She's not happy. I did know this was missing, but didn't pre-sales. Heck, it said 'CLID name included'. Too bad it meant inbound!
It would be great to also be able to set the name to anything you want, since before on VZ, the name was mine as the account holder; being hers would be wonderful.
As many of the posters have said, many people (us included) do *not* answer calls without CLID name. Who knows how many don't on the general public!?
I fail to see the problem, since calls dip into the CLID database, and I can't see why V can't populate it with V numbers and names of the account-holder or a configurable name
Grr.
I second the question: do other Voip do this or not?!
It would be nice to have a response from V except 'read the newsletter.'. |

I really don't know how you think outgoing number ID would be accomplished. Your normal caller ID works because the network transmits the name of the caller. A reverse whitepages lookup isn't the same thing as "callee ID". |

This is not exactly how it works. The network only transmits the calling number. When the call arrives at the destination switch (the Vonage Voip gateway in this case) it does a search of a caller number database to look up the name to display. That is why you may not always get a name if the caller is "Out of Area". The number was not in the database.
They could probably do a lookup when you place a call for a name. They could then display that name in the dashboard. |

So, I'm stil confused... is there any reason except for V laziness or inability (?) to communicate to the database that xxx-xxx-xxxx should be associated with my name for outgoing CLID?
In this case, the number was ported to V and isn't even a V-controlled number! |

You may or may not be confused, but the OP's question concerns being able to see the name associated with the numbers that he/she had dialed.
Vonage's ability to show your name to other callers allong with your number is apparently a network issue. |
