Hello. I need some help. Let me start by saying that I've had Vonage for 2 months now and have loved it!

Here's my problem, I can receive calls, but I cannot make any outgoing calls. I have a dial-tione but when I dail any number, even *123 for voicemail, I get dead-air. I've tried different phones, cordless and corded.

When I setup my VT1000 modem, I opted to add it to my existing home network. I gave the VT1000 a static IP address and subnet that matched my existing home network, and let the VT1000 IP addy be the DMZ in my Linksys BEFRS81 router. Everything has been working perfect until last night when I tried to make a phone call and first noticed this. I've reset everything, I've tried the other connection methods but run into issues because the VT1000 is on a static IP. No matter what I try, I cannot access the VT1000 web config. I'd like to be able to get into it and reset it to factory defaults or something.

I spent over 90min on the phone with support. I spoke to 2 regualr tech's and 1 supervisor. For most of the call, I was impressed with how patient they were. That went sour when the supervisor told me that I would need to buy a new Vonage modem. He said it was my fault for changing the settings and there was nothing he could do. That made me pretty upset, so let's not dwell on that. I refuse to spend money on a new Vonage modem for something that I feel isn't my fault.

So, I've got everything back the way it was. The VT1000 syncs and people can call and talk to me, but I cannot make calls.... dial-tone then dead-air. This tells me the VT1000 still has the static IP I gave it because it's still set as the DMZ with my Linksys router.

First, to access the admin interface of the VT1005, your PC needs to be connected to the PC port of it, the device does not allow access to the admin interface from the WAN side. Second, turn off the DMZ on the router. There is no need for it and it tends to cause more problems. Third, make sure that you have the latest firmware on your router. Fourth, power cycle everything (modem, router, phone adapter).

All of your suggestions have been done on more than one occasion, but I certainly can and will try again.

I went as far as pluging the VT1000 into the PC via the PC port on the VT1000 and gave the PC a static IP address on the same subnet and still could not access the VT1000 web admin. This was attempted on 2 PC's. The IP that the VT1000 has never responds to PING either. There are no firewalls.

Again... help!
