I have read several posts on various forums that indicate the ability to press #5 when a number is busy, and that number will be redialed for up to 30 minutes and ring you back when it gets through. I have tried #5 when I get the busy, and also hanging up and pressing #5. Neither seem to work. I have a Unident 1869v and have tried it on the base and on the handset. Anyone know anything about this feature and how it should work? Thanks.

I've never used it, but I understand that after dialing #5 you're supposed to wait for a beep before hanging up. Are you getting a beep?

Yes, after dialing #5 I wait for a beep and then hang the phone up. It rings back to me when the line is clear. Done this several times and it always works for me.

While you can still hear the busy signal dial 5 #, not #5, you will hear a double beep. Hang up the phone and you phone will ring and than connect when the person you are trying to reach hangs up.

Last time I used it, I hung after hearing the busy signal, picked the receiver back up, pushed #5 and then hung up. It worked for me..

#5 is one of those features Vonage wished worked as expected across the board, but it doesn't due to the various adapters in use. The RTP300/WRTP54G/Cisco ATA/Motorola allow you to hit #5 when you hear the busy signal. The RT31P2,PAP2, and the wireless form of the RT31P2 (can't remember the model #) require you to hit flash or hang up, then hit #5.

It usually works for me, with a few exceptions that Vonage has no control over, such as the dialed phone system sending a "CONNECTED" signal to Vonage rather than a busy signal. The tone on the phone may show correctly, but I've seen a few Direct Inward Dial PBXs give out a busy signal without properly telling the calling system that they are receiving a busy signal.
