I'm at a WiFi hotspot now and the X-Lite refuses to login. Internet access works and the phone previously worked from my home ISP. X-Lite says Login failed, Contact Network Admin. Some of the ports must be blocked.

That kinda ****. I was wondering if it worked at WIFI hotspots. Maybe they are blocking voip ports as you say.

to set up X-lite to use FWD here is the stuff needed. It goes under System Settings/Network and System Settings/SIP Proxy

* Username: FWD Number
* Password: FWD Password
* Domain: fwd.pulver.com
* SIP Proxy: fwd.pulver.com:5060
* STUN server: stun.fwdnet.net:3478
* Outbound Proxy: fwdnat.pulver.com:5082
* Listen RTP Port: 8000
* Listen SIP Port: 5060

under Network

Out Bound SIP Proxy is fwdnat.pulver.com:5082
Primary STUN Server is stun.fwdnet.net:3478
Listen RTP Port is 8000
Listen SIP Port is 5060
leave everything else the same

under SIP Proxy
Usernameis FWD Number
Password is FWD Password
Domain/Realm is fwd.pulver.com
SIP Proxy is fwd.pulver.com:5060
Out Bound Proxy is fwdnat.pulver.com:5082
the rest leave as is

it works for me. I have static IP setup for everything and DHCP is still enabled on the router. not sure if it matters or not

I followed the guide carefully, and everything seemed fine. I installed X-Lite (2.0) and set the Network and SIP settings. Then i updated the settings, and closed the menu. About 3-5s later, the menu popped back up, and opened to the SIP settings page. I'm not really sure what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

NOTE: If you have the el cheapo plan ($20/month in Canada) and you simulring another number you will be billed for the minutes used.

I currently simulring to my cell phone and those minutes go against my 500 minutes/month.

I'm currently investigating other VOIP providers that service BC, Canada. There's got to be someone that will give you unlimited calls in Canada and the US plus all the features of Vonage for $20/month AND give you their SIP credentials so you can ring a softphone without having to pay $13/month and having to use another number.
