I've been experiencing an odd issue where if I am on a call and then try to launch or refresh a browser, or surf to a new web page, it both hangs the browser and disco's the call. I currently have a VT1000 but I've experienced the same issue with the IP phone that I use for work (Cisco 7940- SCCP with G.711) I've tried rearranging devices on the network, but to no avail, the problem occurs regardless of network architecture.

My gut tells me that it might be puking on a duplex setting on port somewhere i.e. I may need to force all the NICs to 100 full instead of Autosense, but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced the same issue and might have a workaround.

Network is as follows:
ISP: Comcast
ATA: VT1000
Switch: Netgear 5 Port 10/100
Router: AirPort Extreme
PCs: Dell 8250 Desktop and Apple G4 17" PB

I had some similiar issues with a Linksys router. I have since switched out the router (with the same model) and downgraded the Firmware (the opposit of what Customer Service told me) and I have not dropped a call or had intenet loss in over 3 weeks. (knock on wood). I still reboot things once a week to just start fresh.

I would look at your router first. Good Luck.

By the way Customer Service has been really good and this was only to point out that sometimes you need to try a different approach.

you downgraded the firmware on what, the router or the VT1000?

I downgraded my firmware on my Linksys BEFSR41 router. When I upgraded the Firmware I began to drop calls/ internet connection all the time. The service was unusable for any type of business calls.

I had an extra BEFSR41 router on the shelf and switced it out. I would not recomend going out and purchasing this paticular router. But it has been working fine. I get an occasionl echo but the same was true with MCI.

I work from home on the Phone and Vonage is my Business line and has been working great.

Interesting. I've got a Linksys wireless-G router w/4 port switch sitting on my desk in my office. I'll try swapping it out with the AirPort to see if that gets me anywhere.
